WHAT IS HYPNOBIRTHING?
HypnoBirthing is as much as a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relaxing and stress free method of birthing.
Through self-hypnosis, special breathing and visualization, HypnoBirthing teaches you to release all prior programming about birth, how to trust your body and work with it, as well as how to free yourself of harmful emotions that lead to pain and tension without the need of medication.
HypnoBirthing will teach you the art of using your own natural birthing instincts. With HypnoBirthing, you will not be in a trance or a sleep state. You will be aware and fully in control but profoundly relaxed.
‘HypnoBirthing changed the way I viewed birth. All the while, as I doctor, I tell everyone that childbirth is very painful. For first time mothers, they must cry or scream, before they can birth.
Eversince I introduced HypnoBirthing to my mothers and practicing it, I realized a wonderful thing about HypnoBirthing. I no longer see mothers cry or scream in pain. Mothers are comfortable throughout labour. They can still take a walk, take a bath, have a meal at 8, 9 or even 10cm. They can still smile throughout labour and birth. It was just amazing. I soon realized that birth was not meant to be painful.
Studies have shown that the pain levels that mothers experience during labour and childbirth is the same in the HypnoBirthing mothers as well as those on pain killers. This means that HypnoBirthing is an effective pain relief in labour. The bonus is you don’t have the side effects of pain killers that make babies sleepy and sedated and unwilling to breastfeed.
That’s why it’s so important to learn how to cope with labour pain and with that, your birth will be comfortable and enjoyable.’. .. Dr Tan Ee Ping, Obstetrician
